Producers from Thielle in Senegal have expressed satisfaction with the performance of a new cassava variety imported from Ghana. Named "sika" in the local language, this new variety generates three-times the yield of the convention variety used by producers in the region before. The dissemination and up-scaling of this new variety is facilitated by the West Africa Agriculture Productivity Program (WAAPP).
