CERAAS is a center of the Senegalese Institute of Agricultural Research (ISRA) operating at regional level and based in Thies (Senegal). One of its missions is to host and train young African scientists to concepts and latest techniques used in the field of plant adaptation to drought.

CERAAS is fully equipped for working in the following disciplines: agronomy, bio-climatology, physiology, biochemistry, molecular genetics, breeding and crop modeling. As part of its partnership with CERAAS, DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst), the German academic exchange service, supports the training of non-Senegalese Doctorate students at CERAAS for a period of three (3) years and for a period of 15 months for Master 2.

The granted scholarships cover a return air ticket, the annual registration fees at the Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar, medical insurance as well as a monthly allowance of two hundred fifty thousand (250,000) francs CFA for doctorates and One hundred ninety thousand (190,000) CFA Francs for Master2 fellows for the duration of the training.

Registrations for Master 2 will be held at the University Cheikh Anta Diop of Dakar (UCAD). Candidates must choose from the following courses

• Microbial and Plant Biotechnologies (BIOVEM)

• Phytopharmacy and Plant Protection (PPV)

• Agroforestry, Ecology and Adaptation (AFECA)
